The Clothing Closet provides free, high-quality clothing for foster, adoptive, kinship, and biological families in the Kansas City area.
Children involved in foster care often experience sudden transitions that create immediate clothing needs. This resource exists to meet practical needs quickly, respectfully, and with dignity—regardless of financial circumstance. Open to all!
The closet includes:
Infant through teen sizes
New essentials and gently used clothing
Shoes, coats, and seasonal essentials
Items are organized so families can choose what their child needs in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Shop during Second Saturday
The free Clothing Closet is open during our monthly free Saturday event (May-December).
Shop during business hours
The Community Center is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a staff person can assist anyone needing clothing during that time.

Our Amazon wish lists are updated monthly with the most pressing needs and are the easiest way to donate:
Gift Cards
Gift cards ($25–$50) help meet shoe needs and teens’ unique clothing sizes. (ex: Target, Walmart, Old Navy).
