Gift Card Drive
Those impacted by foster care often receive the leftovers, the least, and the worn. Your help with brand new essential items makes sure we can give them the very best. Over 900 children were served last year.
Children can get gently used clothing at our Clothing Closet. However, there are often additional needs of children impacted by foster care, particularly those who are teenagers. It is difficult to find the appropriate sizes as children develop, and they have more particular tastes. In addition, teens also need individual-specific undergarments. Whenever we can provide a way to affirm their own choices, meet their needs, and make sure they have the essentials it has a huge impact on their self esteem! That’s why we provide gift cards in addition to gently used clothing in our Clothing Closet.
Here is how you can help host a Gift Card Drive for the Clothing Closet:
With your team, organization or volunteers, collect donations of new items to stock the shelves at the Clothing Closet. This can be done at an event or an ongoing basis that works for your team. Most needed items include:
• Gift cards approximately $20-$50• Gift cards at a variety of stores such as Walmart, Target, JcPenney, Old Navy, Kohls, Dicks Sporting Goods, TJ Max, etc.
