Back to School Drive

Those impacted by foster care often receive the leftovers, the least, and the worn. By providing new items, you are making them feel valued, affirmed, and encouraged.

In August, children get to select the school supplies they need and pick out a brand new backpack. Over 400 children received a backpack last year! Our school supply drive relies on people like you to collect needed items to be distributed in August each year.

Here is how you can participate in the School Supply Drive:

1. With your team, organization or volunteers, collect donations of new school supplies up until August 1st.  This can be done at an event or an ongoing basis that works for your team.  Most needed items include:
   • Backpacks (elementary-high school)

   • Highlighters

   • Dry erase markers

   • Glue sticks

   • 2” 3-ring binders

   • Spiral notebooks

   • Markers

   • Crayons

   • Scissors (elementary to high school)

   • Pens (red, blue, black)

   • Hand sanitizer bottles and clorox wipes

   • Kleenex boxes

2. Drop off items by Friday, August 1st so they can be available for children at our Back to School Event.

3. You may also request our Supply Amazon Registry List and purchase items to have them directly shipped to Joy Meadows.
