The Clothing Closet provides free, high-quality clothing for foster, adoptive, kinship, and biological families in the Kansas City area.

Children involved in foster care often experience sudden transitions that create immediate clothing needs. This resource exists to meet practical needs quickly, respectfully, and with dignity—regardless of financial circumstance. Open to all!

The closet includes:

  • Infant through teen sizes

  • New essentials and gently used clothing

  • Shoes, coats, and seasonal essentials

Items are organized so families can choose what their child needs in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.

A child selects clothing from bins at the Joy Meadows free clothing closet.
